Stephen Fitzgerald ACII - Chairman Steve trained as an Underwriter with the Eagle Star before moving to Syndicate 386 where he specialised as a Liability Underwriter. He became the Managing Director of the Syndicate’s Agency division and led the growth of this operation on a national basis. The Syndicate was eventually purchased by QBE and Steve became a Regional Director with a UK remit for the branch operations. Steve retired after a very successful career in 2008 but after a short period of leisure he was persuaded by Simon and Owen to join Delta in a non executive role. Steve’s experience as an underwriter and as an Insurer add an extra dimension to Delta’s offering as well as providing this young company with wise counsel.
	Simon Burley ACII FCILA FUEDI ELAE - DirectorAfter spending 4 years with the NU Simon entered the Loss Adjusting profession in 1982 and has worked as an Adjuster and Main Board Director for a number of companies in both the UK and overseas. In 2003 Simon, along with Owen Gorman set up Sigma Claims Solutions a dedicated liability adjusting practice. After successfully building this company it was sold to AMG (now Merlin) in 2006. Simon joined AMG as a Main Board Director responsible for liability services and business development across the Group. Simon subsequently left in April 2008 before setting up Delta in November 2008. Simon retains a case handling role and is principally involved in the investigation of EL and PL cases. Having been trained in Accountancy and having worked for the UK’s first major loss team, Simon is ideally suited to the handling of third party property damage claims particularly those involving business interruption aspects. 	Owen M Gorman - DirectorAfter initially joining the Guardian Owen worked as a Liability Claims Handler before joining Thomas Howell in Belfast. He trained as both a property and liability adjuster before focusing his skills in the liability arena. Owen transferred to the UK as a Liability Branch Manager and quickly rose to be a Regional Manager responsible for the north of England. In 2003 he co-founded Sigma Claims Solutions with Simon Burley. This business grew from a standing start to achieve a £2m turnover within its first five years. During this time Sigma sold to AMG (now Merlin) at which point Owen remained responsible for the day to day activities during a busy period of growth. Owen left Merlin in May 2008 and after a period of enforced garden leave he joined Simon at Delta in February 2009. 	Dave Smith - Owner Operator (East Anglia)Dave is a versatile and highly capable Liability Loss Adjuster with a high performance track record of claims management and loss adjustment. He started his career in the CIS in 1987 progressing to a career in Liability Adjusting in 1998. He has performed senior adjusting and management roles in major adjusting houses before meeting Simon & Owen when working for Sigma Claims Solutions, managing their Bury St Edmunds office. Dave is experienced in handling all types of liability claims with a particular specialism in complex and catastrophic injury claims.
