We anticipate you will have some questions - we have covered the issues we commonly come across but please feel free to contact us with any queries.
What income will I earn?
From experience you will know that a monthly fee income of £10k/£12k is comfortably achievable given an established case load. In other words a Gross Fees Revenue of £120k/£144k which would earn you a revenue of £90k/£108k. Crucially you will be in control and can tailor income proportionate to effort. You will need to factor in your local operating costs but these costs will be transparent and controllable by you.
What if I want to earn less and work reduced hours?
At this stage of our development there will be focus on growing the business but there may be niche areas that can be utilised to achieve this objective. We would examine with you the feasibility of meeting your requirements within the overall business plan during the selection process. Flexibility is a key feature of our model.
Will I be expected to introduce business?
Yes. Whilst Delta management will concentrate on generating instructions and winning business on a National or area basis we expect the owner operator to help grow both his own business and Delta’s national offering.
Why should I introduce business if I receive no income from it?
It’s a “swings and roundabouts” approach that we have adopted. We set the fee retention at the high level of 75% so as to recognise this situation and reward accordingly. The franchisee benefits reciprocally from business introduced by other franchisees. However there will be a Profit Related Bonus Scheme that will, subject to a transparent formula, recognise exceptional contribution to growth. This bonus is likely to be modest initially but will be reviewed as Delta’s business develops.
Will I be the exclusive Delta claims service for my area location?
You will have a specific area but you are not necessarily guaranteed all the work within that area. We will build the Company brand by providing a market leading service. To do this we need to be flexible so that resources are always available. When we agree your business plan it will be fundamentally on the basis of you servicing claims that are local to you. However as we build the network you will be offered work further afield and in some instances fellow franchisees will supplement resources in your locale if you are not in a position to handle the new work expediently. There is reciprocal benefit in this approach and it fosters the cooperative relationships that will be central to our success.
What sort of office should I start with and where will it be located?
This would be your business and this decision would be yours to make based on what you believe you need. Of course, we would help you with this, we have experience of working from home, virtual offices, serviced and leased offices and we would be happy to share those experiences with you to help you get the right solution.
What staff would I need from day one?
This depends upon your anticipated volumes of work. Our experience shows us that a one man operation does not really need any permanent employees. A lot of the administration is done at HO and typing is more economically (and more effectively) done by a pool of virtual secretaries. Consequently you can keep your own costs down and still be very effective and productive. We will be happy to discuss this further with you and again share our experiences because at the end of the day it is your decision.
What guarantees would I have re volume?
The short and honest answer is none. However, it is in both our interests to ensure that you are a success. We therefore will be open with you and share our thoughts on the work we think we have in your area and you will have an idea about what you can bring. The combination of these will give you an idea about revenue and therefore a good feel for viability. Once you have started we suspect growth will largely be dependent on your own performance.
